Junior Shoot

The BR&R Gun Club sponsors a Junior Rifle night that may be attended by the children of members and non-members alike.  The Rifle instructors are Stuart Casselberry and Donald Groden, both of which are trained club Range Safety Officers and NRA certified. Donald is also a NRA certified rifle instructor.  Each is DCM/CMP Service Rifle shooters and experienced military shooters.  Stuart is a NRA Certified Shooting Safety Instructor and Boy Scout Shooting merit badge counselor.  Instructors also include Suzanne Fowler and Howard Bischoff, both are experienced small-bore shooters.

The Junior Shooting Program is an all inclusive training program.  Shooters must be 12 – 18 years old and accompanied by a parent to the first meeting.  Training is open to both boys and girls and they can bring their personal .22 rifle or .177/.22 pellet rifles. The club provides the shooters with .22 caliber rifles, ammo, jackets, eye and ear protection and shooting mats.  Horseplay on the range will not be tolerated.  Juniors are required to attend a shooting safety course at their first meeting and then are taught shooting basics.  Upon successful completion of the training the juniors are allowed to attend the shooting relays.  Relays cover the Standing, Kneeling, Sitting and Prone shooting positions.
