. Welcome back shooters. I hope that you had a fun summer and that all is well.
Attached is our shooting schedule for the 2009-2010 season. There are a couple of “tentative” entries in the list which will have to be shuffled around since we are scheduled to shoot at home while the school is closed.
As we had done last year, we will compete against three teams via “postal matches” only; these are matches which we will fire at our home range, they will fire at their home range, and we will compete by comparing our scores “remotely.” We have five teams that we will compete against “normally,” and four additional “postal” teams, our schedule will consist of five home matches, five away matches, and eight “postal” matches.
The CAL Shooting Club’s home range is at the Clarence High School on Monday nights. The range will be open for practice on Mondays unless we have a match on Monday, school schedule permitting – our range is closed any day CHS is closed. The range will be open from 7:00 PM for all home matches and practices. The first relay of a match will begin at 7:30 PM (or earlier if enough shooters from both teams are present).
We will be continuing our approach of assigning a range officer to be responsible for opening our home range for each practice night. As in the past, if you are the range officer listed as being responsible for opening the range for practice on a night which is inconvenient for you, please make arrangements with another of the range officers to swap nights.
Here is a table of the home nights and club addresses of the teams we will shoot against. Maps to the ranges are available for the asking. See any of the club officers if you need a map. The teams we will shoot against in postal matches are: Pinecrest (in Canada), Fredonia, Boston Valley, and Caledonia.

Club activities began on Monday, September 28th with our first scheduled practice night. Our first match is home versus Clarence on Monday, October 5th.
The annual league fees will remain at $10.
Club dues will again be $35; second family members cost $30, and any more $25 each, plus an additional $10 per shooter for SPL dues. Range fees at matches remain at $2. Payment is due prior to our first match (Oct 5th).
A membership renewal form is attached. Shooters requiring a new membership application can obtain one from one of the club officers. All new shooters are required to fill out a new membership application. The attached membership renewal form is for returning members only. Please submit your payments, along with the renewal form to Chris Metro. Make checks payable to the CAL Shooting Club.

Attached is the Suburban Pistol League Schedule for 2009-2010. We will have a practice night on Thursday Oct. 1 at 7:30 PM.
As you can see, we will be shooting only 5 of 18 matches away from Alden this year. This is because 4 teams are "Postal" match teams only.
You may shoot ahead due to scheduling conflicts up to 6 times. Please do NOT abuse this privilege.
We welcome all pistol shooters at whatever level of skill you are at. This is a 30 round, .22 caliber, National Match course of fire, shot indoors at 50 feet. Matches consist of an actual score and a hadndicap score. You will receive a temporary average (if you do not have one) after 3 fired match scores, before receiving handicap scores.
This league anticipates registering as an official NRA League. Shooter's will have the option of paying a separate 1 time season fee of $7.00 for this purpose.
Match fees for the league are $2.00 per match. There is a league season registration fee.
